Before you buy: how to get the model right without them finding out

Cases and sleeves are chosen by the Axxxx model number, not by the product name: two 13-inch MacBook Airs from different years can need different cases. Three discreet ways to find out:

• MacBook: the number is printed in the small print on the bottom case (look for "Model A" followed by four digits). If you can get to the Mac, Apple menu > About This Mac gives you the name and year, and with that you can find it in our guide Which MacBook do I have?.
• iPad: it's also on the back, or in Settings > General > About.
• Apple Watch: here what matters is the case size, engraved on the back of the watch (for example, 42 mm or 46 mm). Our straps come in two sizes: 38–42 mm and 44–49 mm. We explain it all in our strap size guide.

Make their MacBook sparkle this Christmas: glitter cases

How can I tell which MacBook they have without asking?

Turn the laptop over when they're not around: on the bottom case, next to the regulatory text, you'll see "Model A" and four digits. With that number you can choose the right variant on each case's product page.

Do the cases fit the new 14-inch MacBook Pro with M6?

Yes, for the designs that come in a 14-inch MacBook Pro variant, such as the red crocodile: the M6 has the same dimensions as the M5. They don't fit the new MacBook Pro with the PROLED XDR display, which has a different chassis.

Which strap size should I choose if I don't know the size of their Apple Watch?

Check the back of the watch or the Watch app on their iPhone. If it's 38, 40, 41 or 42 mm, choose 38–42 mm; if it's 44, 45, 46 or 49 mm, choose 44–49 mm. Watch out: the 42 mm Series 10, 11 and 12 take the smaller size.

Does the red crocodile case fit the 2026 iPad Air M4?

Yes: it comes in variants for the 11- and 13-inch iPad Air M4, which shares its dimensions with the Air M2 and M3. Choose the one with their model number.
